In its April 7 edition, dna reported that despite a no detention policy in the same class under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, Lilavatibai Podar School detained some primary class students.

On Tuesday itself, parents whose children had been detained, were called to meet Norina Fernandes, the school principal. While dna could not immediately speak to any of the said parents, Fernandes sent an SMS to this reporter on Tuesday, saying: "The school review committee has decided to promote the children. Remedial teaching and counselling will be given to them. The school will continue its efforts in trying to give the best to all its students."
