The Goregaon-based school had organised a unique fundraising event where parents and teachers could donate items such as branded clothes and jewellery, which were auctioned.  There was a silent auction and ‘Bid to Win’. A raffle ticket draw was also held at the event.

The funds raised were to be donated to nine NGOs – Habitat for Humanity, Udaan India Foundation, Operation Smile, Teach for India, Sneha, Atma Education, I Love My Mother Earth Foundation, Assassi Bhavan and the Children’s Movement for Civic and Environmental Activities.

Participating in charitable initiatives like these is an important part of the curriculum as the students learn to give back to society.  “By being able to give back, one appreciates what one has. It helps students develop a sense of responsibility, objectivity and creativity,” stated the school authorities.
