The municipal administration said it will begin the process of acquiring the plot at Gultekdi, adjoining Poonawala Garden in Salisbury Park.
The assurance was given at the general body meeting of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator, Vandana Bhimale, blamed the civic administration and alleged that despite an order of the Supreme Court, the PMC is yet to acquire the plot, which is reserved for a garden.
Land acquisition department head, Sudhakar Telang, said the PMC has asked the department concerned to
survey the land.
Bhimale and other BJP corporators said the apex court had ordered PMC to acquire the land within six months by paying the owner. “But nothing has been done so far,” they said. She alleged that the file of the plot is missing and demanded action against the errant officers.
Shiv Sena leader, Sham Deshpande, said attempts are being made to delete the reservation of the plot.
