Know the real story behind Virar petrol pump fire

For a few days now, a picture of a petrol pump engulfed in fire has been making the rounds on social media. The issue got hyped up when a few credible news agencies also posted these pictures about the said fire on microblogging site Twitter.

But like many social medis hoax calls, this one also turned out to be a false a alarm. When dna contacted the Vasai Virar Fire Brigade Department to understand the gravity of the situation, officials at the department denied the existence of such fire. 

"Such incident has not taken place in this region and the photos are of different area and the images has been circulated through various social messaging applications. We have been receiving several calls from government officials but no such incident has taken place and its a baseless rumour, said Bharat Gupta, Incharge, Vasai Virar Fire Brigade Department.

"We request the netizens to stop spreading rumours and to not panic on false images and information which has been in circulation since past four days,' said Gupta.
