Gauging the tremendous support extended by the city to the farmer's rally at Azad Maidan on Monday, Opposition leaders scrambled to express their solidarity as well. The stage at the rally was populated by political leaders while Shiv Sena erected hoarding in support at the ground.

NCP MLC and Leader of Opposition, State Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde and NCP state president Sunil Tatkare met with the farmers. "I came here to inform you that the NCP is fully with farmers. We are ready to fight for farmers' rights and welfare. We will raise the demands of farmers in the assembly as well," asserted Munde.

Maharashtra Congress president Ashok Chavan, visited the farmers to expressed his party's support, and said, "Due to the wrong and faulty policies of the government, more than 13,000 farmers have ended their lives in the past three years. It has lost the moral right to stay in power."
