“No party has ever won elections just because its leader has shifted to the constituency.  Anyway, his presence or absence does not mean anything to us,” said senior Sena leader and former MLA, Gajanan Kirtikar.

He added that the buzz about Raj will be silenced soon after the KDMC election results. “This election will be fought on the development works done by us in the past five years. If people want these works to continue, they do not have any other option,” said Kirtikar.

The Sena is in the process of short-listing candidates for the KDMC polls. It feels that the elections will a repeat of the last time when the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance triumphed. A Sena leader said that it is up to the MNS now to live up to the hype created around the party.

According to sources, MNS will contest all 107 seats.
