Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who shot to fame with her debut film Gangster, lodged a complaint with the Versova police station on Monday after receiving threat calls and SMSes. The calls were being made by the same person on whose alleged instructions acid was thrown on Kangana’s sister, Rangoli, last year.

The actor’s publicist Parull Gossain said, “Kangana had lodged a complaint with the Versova police after she started receiving threat calls and SMSes from Avinash Sharma, the same person who masterminded the acid attack on Kangana’s sister in Dehradun, last October.”

According to police sources, Kangana had been receiving threats from Sharma for the past 12 days. Police sources said that Sharma told Kangana to either help him marry her sister or bear the same consequences faced by her sister. Morever, Sharma even tried to meet Kangana in Mumbai.

Sharma had allegedly instigated his friend, Prem Singh to throw acid on Rangoli at her rented house on October 5.  

“We have registered a complaint and are investigating the matter,” deputy commissioner of police (DCP Zone IX), VK Choubey told DNA. Sharma was arrested with his associate Prem Singh in Dehradun last October. Rangoli was engaged to another person and had been recuperating in a hospital after the incident.Kangana, who was unavailable for comment is presently busy shooting for Shaka Laka Boom Boom directed by Sunil Darshan.
