He demanded the resignation of Kalmadi, who was also suspended from the Congress party hours after his arrest on Monday, as the Pune MP.

Khadse said, “A group was involved in the scam and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should expose other members. Kalmadi had already said that he was not alone. He should now reveal the names of his associates.”

The BJP leader said Kalmadi had pointed finger at Delhi chief minister, Sheila Dikshit, regarding utilisation of Commonwealth Games funds.

Demanding an apology from Congress general secretary, Digvijay Singh, for giving a clean chit to Kalmadi on the case, Khadse said Kalmadi should tender his resignation as Puneites are angry over his involvement in the Commonwealth Games scam.

Khadse said as Kalmadi always took initiative only in organising games instead of development work for the common man, one wonders whether there was any financial embezzlement in organising sports events held in the past.
