MUMBAI: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gopinath Munde, who was on Saturday injured in a road accident near Parli in Marathwada region of Maharashtra, was brought to Mumbai's Bombay Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Munde suffered hand injuries after his vehicle hit a tree while trying to avoid running into a pedestrian near Parli, 600 km from here, at around 5 pm, party sources said.

The former Deputy CM was initially taken to a hospital in Parli and then admitted in Latur, where an aircraft was to fly him to Mumbai, the sources said.
