After reaching Mumbai on June 12, the Southwest monsoon that seemed to have gone into a slumber has finally 'woken up' two weeks later. Even as weekends saw rains lashing several parts of Mumbai, officials from India Meteorological Department (IMD) claim that heavy rains will continue till Tuesday.

"The southwest monsoon has been intensified due to an offshore trough along west coast and warnings have been issued for fishermen along west coast to not venture in the sea," said a senior IMD official.

The temperatures too dipped on Sunday. Colaba recorded maximum 26 degree Celsius while Santacruz recorded 26.4 degree Celsius.

Between 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Colaba saw 63.4 mm rainfall while Santacruz witnessed 48.8 mm rainfall.
