IMC honours Indian Navy’s ‘men in white’

The IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday honoured the Indian Navy during its ‘Maritime and Indian Navy’ event. The event held ahead of Independence day was a glittering ceremony attended by Navy men as well as several women entrepreneurs.  

Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, flag officer commanding-in-chief who was the chief guest spoke extensively of the role Navy plays in both defence and maritime activities.  

Nayantara Jain, president of the IMC Ladies’ Wing said that the theme for the year was ‘Winds of Change’. She also highlighted the role of the Ladies’ Wing in creating a dynamic movement for women empowerment. 

Dr Lalit Kanodia, president, IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry also said that it was their honour to felicitate the members of Indian Navy ahead of Independence Day. Lieutenant Meenakshi Pandey, staff officer (Operations) at INS Shikra spoke proudly of working for the Navy.
