Students seeking admissions to under-graduate and post-graduate courses offered by the University of Mumbai’s Institute of Distance Education (IDE) will have to wait another month.

Sources said the IDE had not even placed an order to print admission forms and prospectuses for courses. In case of a further delay, the IDE will upload forms on their website and ask students to download the same.

“To overcome the delay in the commencement of the admission process, IDE has decided to extend the schedule for two months from the day of the admission process commences,” said D Harishchandan, in-charge director of the IDE, adding that admissions to IDE offered courses were likely to begin in August.

Every year over 60,000 students apply for various IDE courses. And the delay in admissions has become a cause of worry for students.
