With election campaigning reaching the final stages, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has warned the state police about politicians’ visits to sensitive areas.

In its report, the IB has suggested that there is a possibility that Naxals may attack helicopters of politicians while landing or take-off.

“We are going to use armour-plated helicopters and the ones which can stay longer at higher altitudes,” said Jayant Umranikar, DG, special operations.

What has got the intelligence agencies worried is that during a recent encounter with Naxals, they found a book titled ‘Guerilla Air Defense: Anti-aircraft weapons and techniques for Guerilla forces’.
