Reacting to the story carried in DNA on Monday, saying ‘Witness will help Pataudi, for a price’, Naresh Kadyan told DNA that he had been misinterpreted in the issue.

Kadyan who had filed a petition last year to cancel the bail granted to former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in the black buck poaching case registered against the cricketer, said, “All I meant was that Pataudi must quit any kind of hunting, leave consumption of non vegetarian food and join wildlife conservation.”

He added, “I have nothing against the Pataudis and hold them in high esteem due to their contribution to the nation in various fields, but I was certainly anguished by the cricketer’s involvement in the poaching case. All I want is that he (Pataudi) should join any wildlife conservation organisation to make up for the mistake he had committed by allegedly killing the black buck.”
