Assistant public prosecutor Madhav Paul submitted the medical report prepared by the mental hospital after keeping a close watch on his behaviour from January 28 to February 1.

Earlier, after being arrested, Mane was remanded in police custody till February 3 but later, he had been sent to the mental asylum.

Speaking to DNA, Dr Vilas Bhailume, medical superintendent, said, “We got five days to examine him which are less as the patient is yet to undergo a mental status examination conducted by a psychiatrist.’’

“In the five days, a psychiatrist has observed his speech, behaviour, eating habits and his routine,’’ Bhailume added.
