Help teachers of closed kindergarten schools: Bombay high courts

The Bombay high court has directed the state to consider taking steps to ensure the kindergarten teachers find employment.

The teachers are unemployed due to the 2008 GR abolishing kindergarten schools across the state without absorbing them in other education programmes. It was hearing a petition filed by Kalpana Ingawale, a kindergarten teacher in Satara for 20 years.

However, the state said that relaxation, in age related criteria, has been made after which the petitioner and others will stand eligible.
