The initial cost of this 585 meter-long structure was Rs50.4 crore, but has been made ready for Rs43.12 crore.

On the eve of inauguration on Wednesday, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation's chairman Jaydutt Kshirsagar announced that a proposal will be moved to name the skywalk after Nana Jagannath Shanker Sheth.

As a result of a protest led by MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha to beautify the bust of Nana Jagannath Shanker Sheth below the skywalk, Kshirsagar announced that Rs50 lakh will be sanctioned.
