Ghatkopar Plane Crash: Relatives of victims find waiting room locked

After the airplane crash accident on Thursday, relatives and family members of the victims had started gathering outside the postmortem centre at Rajawadi Hospital at Ghatkopar. The relatives from across the city and other parts of the country started gathering at postmortem centre to complete the process of identifying the bodies.

While few of the relatives who came late at night on Thursday and had to stay back till the bodies were handed over till Friday evening, had no space or shelter to stay. A waiting room for the relatives at the gate of the postmortem centre at Rajawadi Hospital is kept locked for almost a year now.

Waiting room for relatives at postmortem centre is in bad condition. Relatives who have been waiting to complete the procedure since Thursday night, have to sit and stand outside and search for other shelters. According to social workers at Rajawadi Hospital, the waiting room has been kept locked for a year due to broken benches, and poor facilities.

It was revamped along with the postmortem centre through the MP fund a few years ago.
