Ensuring that their friend’s body reaches his family in Bahraich city of Uttar Pradesh, a group of friends collected Rs 25,000 overnight and were able to send his body home by flight on Friday evening.
Bahu Ali, who was a hawker and stayed inside the building on the ground floor godown had came to Mumbai over two years ago. He was found dead after the Hussaini building collapsed at Bhendi Bazaar area on Thursday. “We identified the body on Friday morning,” said Naseem Ahmed, a friend.
Four other bodies were sent to UP in an ambulance. 12-year-old Altaf Hyder Mansuri, another victim of the collapse, was sent to Bihar by flight on Friday.
Altaf is one of the three minors who die in Thursday’s incident.
