Foreigner dies after falling from train at Dadar station

A foreigner fell from a running local train between the Dadar and Matunga stations on the Central Railway line on December 10 and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at Sion hospital.

A foreigner fell from a running local train between the Dadar and Matunga stations on the Central Railway line on December 10 and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at Sion hospital.

According to Dadar railway police, the incident took place at around 8.45pm. The foreigner fell from a Dombivli-bound local.

He was rushed to the Sion Hospital by the railway police personnel. However, he was declared dead at around 10.30 pm while under going treatment.

“During the investigation, the railway police did not find a passport, visa, documents or any bag, money or other valuables in the foreigner’s possession,” said senior police inspector Shivaji Shinde of the Dadar railway police.

He added that the man was 6 feet tall with golden-coloured hair, fair complexion and had tattoos all over his body. He wore a blue coloured T-shirt and white bermudas.

“We have sent a photograph and detailed descriptions of the deceased foreigner to the Immigration Branch of Mumbai police to identify him. Immigration Branch is yet to identify the man,” pointed out Shinde.

“We have asked the Sion Hospital authorities to keep the foreigner’s body in their morgue for at lease one month. We have conducted a DNA test too,” he said. He added that if any one has any information about the deceased foreigner, s/he should contact the Dadar railway police station on 022-24180694.
