According to the police, the victim hails from Jalgaon district and had recently claimed to have fully digitised a primary health centre (PHC), in terms of equipment and data, at Jalgaon district's Patonda village. "The victim in her statement said that in March this year, during the budget session, she had given a presentation to state health minister to replicate her project across 1,800 Primary Health Centres (PHC). The victim had alleged that after the presentation, the minister's personal secretary Sunil Mali kept her inside the minister's ante-chamber for about two hours and asked her questions about her personal life," said a police officer.

"We have registered an FIR against Mali on charges of outraging modesty and threatening," said Popat Yadav, senior police inspector of Marine Drive police station.
