"As part of Navy Week celebrations, the traditional ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony is scheduled to be held from December 2 to 4 at the Gateway of India," informed Commander Rahul Sinha, spokesperson of Indian Navy.

During this event, various activities will be conducted around the Gateway of India which includes helicopter operations.

"As a result, the water front opposite the Gateway of India would be required to be free of all sailing and ferry boats during this event starting from 10 am onwards on December 2 (Wednesday) till the night of December 4 (Friday) for security and flight safety reasons," added Cdr Sinha.

Hence, ferry boat services during this time will be reduced to only bare essential trips.
