Hashim Sindhu, 28 a resident of Mahapoli in Bhiwandi, visited his ex-wife Parveen, 25 at her residence, and asked her to hand over his son Amin.
In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old father, on the pretext of taking his 2-year-old son for an outing, allegedly strangled him to death and later showed the corpse to his ex-wife.
Hashim Sindhu, 28 a resident of Mahapoli in Bhiwandi, visited his ex-wife Parveen, 25 at her residence, and asked her to hand over his son Amin.
"The accused angrily took away his son and said that he is taking him for an outing and asked his ex-wife to be ready to go out for a walk with him," said a Shanti Nagar police officer.
The couple are divorced, and the accused married again but demanded that his first wife stay with him.
"The relatives of the woman were at home, and were shocked when he brought back the corpse of the baby. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead before admission," said the officer.
"The accused was angry and always threatened his ex-wife that if she did not come back to him, with money then he would end up killing their son," said the officer.
"He has ben arrested under section 302, for murder, of the Indian Penal Code and has been remanded into police custody for seven days," said Ramrao Dhikle, investigation officer, Shanti Nagar police station.
"The accused has confessed to the crime that he himself strangled the boy as he was furious at his wife for denying to live with him again after the divorce," said Dhikle.
A post-mortem has been conducted, and body handed over to his kin. The police are investigating further.
