This was announced by district deputy election officer, Apurva Wankhede, on Monday. Voting is scheduled on October 13, campaigning for which ended on Monday.

With more than 3 lakh registered voters, 60% of the Khadakwasla assembly constituency is in urban area. Also, only 60% of the voters have the photo-identity card issued by the Election Commission of India.

According to Wankhede, a PAN card, passport, driver’s licence, photo-identify cards from the state, central or local self-governance bodies, co-operative banks and post offices would be recognised as proof of identify.

Pensioners’ identity card, employee’s medical card and other cards would also be accepted. “On production of any of the above identity cards, voters would be allowed to exercise their franchise,’’ she said.
