After having attached properties worth Rs 20 crore belonging to the controversial Islamic preacher and televangelist Zakir Naik in connection with a money laundering case, Enforcement Directorate (ED) sources say there are plans to attach two other flats owned by Naik in Mazgaon. This is in addition to two godowns that belong to Naik’s Longlast Construction in the same area.

“We will be attaching more of Naik’s assets in India. After which, we will probe into his assets abroad. We require some data from Dubai to begin our investigation,” said an ED officer. “A large chunk of Naik’s properties are in the UK and UAE. Most of the funds laundered was routed to India via Dubai,” said the official.
