This incident triggered a security alert as the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, which is on the terror hit-list, is located nearby.

According to media reports, the police investigating the incident have found a Housing.com Executive responsible for hovering the drone over BARC and TISS. The Housing.com employee was taking visuals to upload it on their website.

A TISS professor had spotted the drone flying at a height of 20 metres in the area and immediately alerted the police control room. He even recorded the incident and handed over the footage to the police. A group of people who operated the drone can reportedly be seen leaving the location in a car in the video clip.

A case has not yet been registered. Police are questioning the people who were allegedly flying drones. Flying any object over the city is illegal unless police permission has been granted.

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, which includes advanced nuclear labs,  has been on a terror hit list for years.

The incident comes a month after drones were spotted over the Mumbai airport in which case two men from Dharmanandan Diamond Pvt Ltd, a Surat-based diamond firm, were arrested.
