DNA Zee Business Auto Fest ends on a high note

KJ Somaiya and VJTI students also showcased their customised vehicles

The 13th edition of DNA’s annual two-day Auto Fest: Walk in, Drive out which gave a platform to carmakers, collectors and enthusiasts to showcase their automobiles and motorcycles concluded on Sunday with a bang. The two-day event drew many to the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi, Navi Mumbai where the event was held. 

Actresses Mandana Karimi and Urvashi Rautela, and Jehangir Faroug, who is an avid motorcycle collector, and has an enviable number of 12 vintage motorcycles in his collection, were amongst the prominent personalities that visited the Auto Fest. 

Apart from cars displayed by Toyota, Volkswagen, Honda, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, BMW brands, retro models from a private collection attracted many car-lovers. A 1985 model Volvo and a 2002 Daihatsu Terios were amongst the cars displayed by car collector Javed Mirza. Most of his cars were imported and the only ones in India. 

Superbikes displayed by the members of a city-based biker’s club were another attraction.  The bike models including  Triumph, Kawasaki, Harley Davidson and Ducati were not only displayed, but their firing was also demonstrated. 

The fest showcases a wide range of national and international brands like Hyundai, Toyota, Volvo along with motorbike brands like Kawasaki, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Harley Davidson, Ducati.

Many families who attended were interested in certain new models such as the relaunched Santro, the new Liva and the revamped Ertiga.  Meanwhile, the fest also gave a chance to the students of KJ Somaiya College and VJTI College by allowing them to network and showcase their talent by putting their customised cars for display. The auto fest concluded aptly with an adrenaline-fuelled performance by the stunt biker’s group IStunt.
