In Dockyard Road and Byculla, DNA found that residents were not expecting things to change this monsoon. Debris and garbage blocking drains is a common sight for them. At one place, the grill covering a drain was missing, causing a two-wheeler rider to have an accident.

At Sankli Street, which is close to the E ward office it falls under, residents are excited about the newly installed storm water pipelines. However, the cynics — soured by years of flooding — feel poor quality of work and materials will eventually cause problems.

In Tardeo too, residents are not holding their breath in anticipation of any drastic changes.
