Sangli boy Tushar Kundalik Javir is the new poster boy of his village Dighanchi. A student of Dighan High School, Tushar managed to scored 93.4 per cent in his 10th board exams even though he had to juggle between his studies and a job as a farm hand to help with money at home. But the young boy's struggles are far from over. The family has no money to fund his college education.

Tushar lost his father at a very young age. Since then, his mother Usha has been the sole bread winner of the family, providing for her three children. Securing a good education for them is a constant struggle for Usha.

"My son is a very bright student. Despite all odds, he studied with determination, and entirely on his own, as we couldn't pay for a tutor. He surprised us with his marks. I'm very proud of him," Usha said.

Following his performance in the SSC board exams, Tushar now aspires to become a doctor, and serve the society. "I knew that Class 10 is very important, so I started focusing more on studies. I want to pursue Science in my junior college, but my family can't afford the expenses involved," said Tushar.
