The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has replied to queries of the state government about financing the proposed metro railway project in the city.

Municipal commissioner Mahesh Pathak told reporters that the PMC had sent the queries raised by the state government to the consultant for the project, Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC).

DMRC has answered the queries and the same has been sent to the state government. Details about the queries raised and answers to them by the DMRC were not available.

The proposal of the metro railway project is pending with the state government. Although it has given approval in principle, it has not forwarded it to the central government for final approval.Pathak had said in June that the state government wanted to know how the 50% funding for the project would be raised.
