DGP into real estate deals: sting operation

NEW DELHI: A sting operation conducted by television channel Aaj Tak and portal Tehelka said Maharashtra Director General of Police P S Pasricha was into buying and selling of real estate in the state.

Pasricha, however, said why should anyone have problem if he buys properties through a regular dealer at the regular market price.

He said if he bought property worth Rs 18,000 in Nasik and in Aurangabad for Rs 2.25 lakh and informed the income tax about them "then what is the problem"?

Replying to a question, Pasricha said it was an "intelligent investment" by a senior police official.

The DGP said he did not have a flat today but some of his colleagues "who are indulging in this drama (of charges against him) have flats which are worth Rs three crore.
