Developer registers plaint against CIDCO with MahaRERA
The real estate body that has complained is CREDAI-MCHI's Raigad unit, an apex real estate body from Navi Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
In a first, a developer body has registered a complaint against a government body at the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). The real estate body that has complained is CREDAI-MCHI's Raigad unit, an apex real estate body from Navi Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The government body against whom the complaint has been registered is CIDCO. CREDAI-MCHI has complained that CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra) has been marketing plots without registration with MahaRERA.
Khot said, "CIDCO should register with MahaRERA to even release tenders for plots. We had recently raised the matter with the MahaRERA chairman and were asked to file a complaint with them."
Rajesh Prajapati of CREDAI-MCHI confirmed that the complaint was registered on Wednesday. The complaint also said that CIDCO, while selling homes via lottery, didn't have a registration number for a majority of the properties. The developer body has argued that when the registration number is mandatory for them, why is it not mandatory for CIDCO too.
When contacted, CIDCO chairman Prashant Thakur said, "I will check on why the registration with MahaRERA wasn't done. I am meeting the developer body next week and will discuss the issue and take necessary action."
