The Maharashtra State Board has planned to declare the aptitude test result for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) students in June but according to the experts, it will be too late for students. According to some school representatives, students have to rush to take admission in coaching institutes much before June to avail the concessions they offer.

Mumbai president of the Maharashtra Permanent Unaided Schools Association, Prashant Redij, said, "The coaching institutes come up with concessions for students before the colleges start, in order to attract as many as possible. At that time, parents also rush to take admissions in these institutes, as they want to avoid paying the hefty fee. So I feel if the state board must declare the result earlier."

Echoing Redij's sentiment, Mumbai president of Shikshak Parishad, Anil Bornare, said, "It is better if the board declares the results early. But it is a welcome move that the board is holding an aptitude test in the first place.

Otherwise till last year, only one per cent of students used to take the aptitude test."

The state board chairman Gangahar Mhamane, however, clarified that the results for the test, which will be held in February, will be declared online by March or April. "Only the hard copy of the result will be given to the students later, along with their state board results," he said.
