Sangita Vishnuvardhan, her mother AM Ramila, her brother MA Vinod and a relative TR Pandu have been named the suspects under section 306 (abetting suicide) of IPC, 1860.
The Hinjewadi police on Friday booked the daughter-in-law involved in the suicide case of the four members of a family in Bavdhan recently.
Sangita Vishnuvardhan, her mother AM Ramila, her brother MA Vinod and a relative TR Pandu have been named the suspects under section 306 (abetting suicide) of IPC, 1860.
A relative of the victims, NR Trilokmurthy (44), lodged a complaint in this regard. “She was pressurising her in-laws and husband and threatening to commit suicide if her demand of shifting to Mumbai was not met,” said senior PI Ganpat Madgulkar of the Hinjewadi police station.
PSI Pawar of the Hinjewadi police station said they would send a team to Madurai to arrest the suspects.
AT Narayan (65), his wife Indira (60), their elder son Vishnuvardhan (35) and younger son Madhusudhan (28) were found dead on Wednesday in their flat at the Aditya Shagun (phase I) Cooperative Society in Bavdhan.
They ended their lives by consuming poison. A suicide note was left, in which they had alleged harassment by their daughter-in-law Sangita.
Cops bust cricket betting rackets
In a crackdown on cricket betting during the India-Australia World Cup cricket match on Thursday, the crime branch (unit II and IV) arrested three persons and seized Rs1.7 lakh in cash, laptops, televisions and cellphones in two separate raids at Bhavani Society in Bhavani Peth and in Mangalwar Peth.
Those arrested include Dinesh Dipachand Tekwani (36), a resident of Bhavani Peth and Prashant Dilip Hasija (29), a resident of Shankarseth Road, Milind Bapu Gawade (40), a resident of Mangalwar Peth.
38 LPG cylinders seized, one held
The Swargate police arrested Mustak Fateh Muhammed Mujahid (38) of Bhor taluka for allegedly carrying 30 illegal domestic LPG cylinders near Market Yard police chowki on Thursday.
The police have lodged a case against Mujahid, a driver, under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. He was produced before a court and remanded in police custody.
