'Cow vigilante' case: Complainant Barun Kashyap remanded to police custody till Oct 8
Barun Kashyap Bhuyan has said he will go on a hunger strike.
In the case of the complaint filed against cow vigilantes, Barun Kashyap Bhuyan has been remanded to police custody till October 8. In response to this, Bhuyan will go on hunger strike while AAP volunteers will protest outside Amboli police station in Mumbai on Wednesday evening.
Barun Kashyap Bhuyan, an executive who was arrested on Tuesday by the Amboli police for making a false complaint with regards to being a victim of an alleged cow-vigilante in the city, was produced in Andheri court on Wednesday morning. The Andheri court granted custody to the Amboli police until October 8.
AAP spokesperson Preeti Sharma Menon, who was present in the court, said, "Barun has told us he is going to go on a hunger strike. Besides, AAP volunteers are going to protest against this judgement outside Amboli police station on Wednesday evening."
Last month, Bhuyan had created an uproar over social media when he spoke about his 'tormenting' experience with regards to the alleged cow-vigilante.
However, during police questioning, Bhuyan allegedly revealed that the incident he spoke about was false. Bhuyan was arrested on Tuesday from Chembur.
