Late night on Friday evening, the apartment in a building in Andheri (east) was opened when neighbours complained of a peculiar stink coming from within. On opening, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) police found dead bodies of a male and female.

The apartment is located on the third floor of Janalaxmi building in PMGP colony area of Mahakali Caves Road.

According to a police source, "It looks like a suicide at the moment. The bodies were in a bad condition. They had almost decomposed, and must've been there for at least two days. The bodies have been sent to JJ hospital for postmortem."

He further added, "The duo is approximately 35-years-old. They had been living in this apartment on rental basis. It is yet not clear if the couple was married or were living in together, however, we will probe at all possibilities."
