Cop booked for taking bribe
A police sub-inspector with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has been booked by the anti-corruption branch of the of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai, for accepting a bribe of Rs20,000.

A police sub-inspector with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has been booked by the anti-corruption branch of the of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai, for accepting a bribe of Rs20,000.
According to CBI officials, the accused, identified as KK Sabat, was taking the bribe from a witness in a criminal case related to the EOW for not making him an accused in the case. The incident took place on September 14 when Sabat was trapped and caught.
Sabat has been booked under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He was caught red handed by CBI officials at Tarun Bharat in Andheri (East) in the act of demanding and accepting the bribe.
The CBI raided his house and seized documents related to his bank accounts and properties. Investigations are on to find if he possesses any illegally earned properties or money.
Sabat has been remanded to police custody till Tuesday.
