The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is on high alert after authorities placed 11 containers, suspected to be carrying narcotics, under watch on Thursday. Port officials suspected the white powder-like material in the containers could be contraband drug.

Two weeks ago, over 200kg of cocaine worth Rs95 crore was seized at the port. Custom officials are waiting for the Narcotics Control Bureau, New Delhi, to inspect the containers, authorities said.

The ship consignments were stopped from being transported after X-rays indicated some powder-like material. Port authorities seized 23 containers till Wednesday.
