Congress Janjagran Yatra to start from Panvel in October

Ahead of 2014 elections, Congress will be organising a country-wide ‘Janjagran Yatra’ which will be starting from Panvel in mid-October.

The purpose behind holding this yatra is to highlight various welfare schemes cleared by the Congress during its tenure. However, political observers, feel, “Congress has been forced to take out such a yatra because of its utter failure to contain inflation, depreciation of rupee and tumbling economic scenario.”

According to sources, Panvel has been chosen as the place to launch this yatra, because it is a lucky place for the party. “The MLA seat was held by Peasants and Workers Party for 50 years, however, things changed during last elections when Congress wrested the seat from PWP. It has become a lucky place for the party.”
