Fadnavis informed him that it was the biggest ever loan waiver package in the history of the state. He also apprised Rao about the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana which would transform lives of farmers.

Fadnavis informed the Governor that the Rs 34,000 crore loan waiver package would benefit almost nine million farmers in the state and bring out all the four million distressed farmers into institutional credit.

He said that the loan worth Rs 1.50 lakh is waived for all the farmers putting a few conditions so that rich farmers are prevented from availing the benefits of the loan waiver package.

He said that the farmers who have been repaying the loan interest regularly are also benefited with subsidies and that a total of four million farmers would start with zero loan balance on their land documents.
