Close on the heels of the Maharashtra assembly polls to be declared next month and the Enforcement Directorate (summons to MNS chief Raj Thackeray, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met home minister and BJP president Amit Shah in New Delhi. Fadnavis was in Delhi to call on ailing BJP veteran Arun Jaitley. The meeting, which is said to have discussed the political situation in Maharashtra, took place in the backdrop of senior NCP leader and Maharashtra legislative council chairperson Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar's impending entry into the BJP.

Nimbalkar, who hails from the royal family of Phaltan in Satara, has a running feud with NCP MP Udayanraje Bhosale. Udayanraje's estranged cousin and NCP MLA from Satara, Shivendraraje has already joined the BJP.
