A 35-year-old civil engineer, Uday Jaisingh Nirvan, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling at his residence in Kasba Peth on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, Nirvan hailed from Ranjangaon Mashid in Ahmednagar district. He used to work as a civil engineer with a city-based private firm and was residing at his grandfather’s flat in Kasba Peth.
The police said that on Monday afternoon, his father came from Ranjangaon to meet him. When he did not open the door, his father called up the police. Senior police inspector Anant Rajeshirke of Faraskhana police station and his team immediately rushed to the spot and broke open the door. They found Nirvan hanging from the ceiling with a saree.
“The reason behind the suicide could not be ascertained, as we have not found any suicide note at the spot,” said Rajeshirke. A case of accidental death has been registered with the Faraskhana police.
