Students were back at Gokuldham School, Goregaon, on Monday after their school trip was cut short by a bus accident in Silvassa.
To help the students deal with the post-traumatic stress, the school organised stress busting sessions.
The school has clarified that none of the students were left behind at Silvassa. Immediately after hearing about the accident, the school management rushed to the spot and brought back all the children who suffered bruises.
The three students that were seriously injured and admitted to the ICU in Shree Vinobha Bhave Civic Hospital in Silvassa, have also returned and recuperating in city hospitals.
“We are glad that everyone has returned safely. The parents and students have come together to help us handle the situation,” said the school principal.
The school has organised post-traumatic sessions with the aid of experts to help the children leave the accident behind and concentrate on their studies. The first session was held on Monday.
The police, in the meantime, are investigating the cause of the accident. “The school bus has been handed over to the RTO. They will inspect the vehicle. Preliminary evidence suggests that the bus skidded off the road near Selty Goratpada while negotiating a tricky curve,” said a police officer.
The accident took place on the very first day of their trip on Thursday.
The students had reached Silvassa in the morning and after dropping off their bags in a resort in Khanvel, they headed towards a tourist attraction in Dudhni.
While returning, the bus had to pass the ghats in Dudhni, where the bus skidded off the road and toppled on its side.
