The result of All India Senior School Certificate Examination 2014 ( AISSCE-2014) held in March-April, covering Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Pondicherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, of the Southern region were declared on Monday. This year the pass percentage of South region went up from 91.83% to 92.89 an increase of 1.06%.

Total number of candidates registered were 45,064. Girls pass percentage is 94.6% and boys 91.96% in south region. Whereas for Maharashtra it was 92.47% for boys and 94.66% for girls.

Rishi Vanukuru, 17, a student of Apeejay High School Nerul, scored 97.8% in science stream. He is one amongst three students, who scored a perfect 100 in Maths. Talking to dna, Vanukuru said, "I gave my JEE (Advanced) exam on Sunday, and it was good. I wish to pursue a career in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology. My inspiration is my father, who is an electrical engineer. I am very happy with my marks. Only if you enjoy your studies that's when you are able to score well."

Another student Purva Shrivastava, 17, a commerce topper from Apeejay High School Nerul, saids, "My secret of success is studying regularly. I started preparing for my Common Proficiency Test exam to become a CA after my class XII board exam. After I finished my class X, I researched on what career I should opt for and zeroed it down to CAs."

Apeejay School has had 100 out of 128 students, who have scored above 75% and 56 above 90% in CBSE class XII this year.

Sonakshi Gupta,17, from RN Podar Santa Cruz scored 98.2% in commerce stream. Gupta has scored 100 in business studies. Gupta said, "I have chosen to study further for CA. My secret of success is giving quality time to my studies that has helped me to achieve this feat. "
