Even as the national pass percentage at Class 10 CBSE exams saw a dip from last year, city students fared well yet again with most schools getting 100 per cent results and many students scoring 95 per cent and above.

Chennai region, which Maharashtra is a part of, retained its second position like last year with 97.37 per cent pass percentage. This year, 5,537 students from over 1.88 lakh students in the Chennai region scored 95 per cent and above and a whopping 26,670 students scored 90 per cent and above.

Aruna Bhalla, Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatana, Mumbai region said that the region's performance for all the KV Schools is better than the national average this year. "There is a slight dip in the overall result of the region as compared to last year but that can be attributed to the changed exam pattern which is slightly difficult."

At the Delhi Public School (DPS) Nerul, 83 of the 233 students who had appeared for the exam scored 95 per cent and above. 154 students scored 90per cent and above. "Our class average is 90.5 per cent, which indicates that the performance is excellent. With only 20 per cent weightage to internal assessment this year, the result is commendable," said J Mohanty, Principal, DPS Nerul.

Andheri's Rajhans Vidyalaya saw 40 of the 129 students scoring above 90 per cent this year. "Despite the difficult paper pattern, students have coped well and done really well. All our students have scored good marks, including students with special needs," said Dipshikha Srivastava, Principal, Rajhans Vidyalaya.

Raj Aloni, Principal, Ramsheth Thakur Public School in Kharghar said that the new exam pattern, which mandates students to study the entire year's portion, seems to have affected scores to some extent.

"While students have scored well in languages, many have lost marks in Science," added Aloni, while speaking to DNA.
