BMC will begin the eviction process today by disconnecting power, water and gas supplies to the illegal flats. The residents though have barricaded the compound to prevent the officials from disconnecting the power supply.

Media persons have thronged the compound amid tight security of police personnel at the entrance.

Earlier today the residents had performed a 'havan' to pray for the safety of the society.

BMC had earlier given a May 2 deadline to the residents by which the residents failed to evict their homes.
