However, officials said that this would only further delay the process
Even after the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) finalised three bids for the BDD Chawl redevelopment project at Worli, a fourth bidder has approached the Bombay High Court challenging the bidding process.
SD Corporation (Shapoorji Pallonji and Dilip Thacker Group Venture) is seeking approval from the High Court to register their bid for the project after it could not get through due to a technical glitch.
However, officials said that this would only further delay the process. According to a source in MHADA, SD Corporation had allegedly finished the first few steps in the online bidding process but could not apply before the given deadline due to a technical issue. MHADA officials say that since the deadline was extended twice, a rebid would only delay the process.
When contacted, Amit Thacker of SD Corporation, said, “We approached the court a week or two ago and we wouldn’t like to discuss the matter as it is sub judice.”
Milind Mhaiskar, CEO and VP of MHADA, said, “The matter is subjudice. Let’s wait for the HC‘s decision.”
