Boyfriend slit Bhiwandi girl's throat, arrested

The Bhiwandi cops have arrested the lover of the 17-year-old Bhiwandi girl whose throat was slit in the wee hours of Wednesday in Bhiwandi. Investigation revealed that the accused was the victim's boyfriend Raja Alias Bismillah Shaikh, and not her admirer Dheeraj.

On September 17, the deceased and her elder sister was sleeping when the accused knocked on their door at around 3:30am. He thrashed the elder sister until she fell unconscious. After murdering the victim, he fled the scene. Around 6am, passersby woke up the elder sister who then lodged a complaint with the Bhiwandi Police Station.

Initially, the sister had accused Dheeraj, who worked with her younger sibling, of having committed the crime. Later, when she was shown faces during the investigation process, she recollected the horrifying incident and recognized the actual accused who was in reality having an affair with the victim.

The accused Raja lives in an area close to where the deceased stayed. He works in another company as a staff. According to the police, the accused who is being questioned, revealed that the deceased was having multiple affairs.

A senior police inspector from the Bhiwandi police station, sayid: "We are investigating the matter further as the victim was said to have had multiple affairs in the past. Another person who was in relationship with the victim, may have murdered the victim out of sheer jealousy. It was late night on Wednesday when the accused was arrested. He will be produced in court Thursday."
