Registration for junior colleges began on April 13, and gets over today. Along with information technology experts, college principals have been called in for training regarding the online admission process, by the deputy director's office.

Recently, a parent from Pune had moved the HC against the FYJC online admission process. Bhimrao Phadtare, deputy director, school education said: "We have sent out the dates of training and called for principals to attend it. The HC order was meant for Pune, as the discrepancies were found there and not in Mumbai's admission process."

Phadtare added that the department will wait for the HC's final order, after which they will decide on what changes to bring about.

The vice principal of a South Mumbai based college opined that since it took a lot of time to get implemented the online process 'cannot' be scrapped.

"Earlier, parents used to run from one place to another for admission forms. It is too late also to make any changes in the system as the process will begin in two months," added the vice principal, wishing anonymity.
