Bombay High Court checks will delay major infrastructure projects: Experts
Experts have opined that this might result in increasing the time taken up in the procedures when it comes to executing several infrastructure projects like Metro corridors and roads on an emergency basis.
While the Bombay High court has laid out steps that the municipal commissioners have to follow while allowing the proposals for cutting trees up to 25, experts have opined that this might result in increasing the time taken up in the procedures when it comes to executing several infrastructure projects like Metro corridors and roads on an emergency basis.
A transport expert, choosing to be anonymous, said, "One can now challenge the order of tree cutting of trees upto 25 or below 25, and this will definitely bring more transparency but will also increase the procedures that are required for cutting of trees and might delay the infrastructure projects."
Another transport expert said, "It is a decision in a good direction and it is also environment friendly. Considering that several procedures like public hearing have been made necessary, several project implementing bodies might plan their alignment where there are no tress to fast track the project and this might be a win win situation for both."
